Changelog
+ added · × fixed · ~ improved
+ Dark mode! Turn it on from the menu or Settings. If you notice anything off, please report it.
+ Edit a task. Hover a task, hit the pencil, and change the title, hive, due date, or priority. No more delete and re-add.
+ Requeen button on the hive page, under More actions. Start a tracker without logging an inspection first. Pick the method, start date, and stage.
× Due date box on the Add task form was too wide next to Priority. Now they line up.
+ Sign up after saving an anonymous reminder and it lands in your tasks automatically. No re-typing the email.
+ Dashboard now shows a "next steps" card for new accounts and "this month / since last" engagement on the meta strip.
+ Optional marketing opt-in checkbox on the anonymous reminder form.
+ Mark done button in reminder emails. One tap from your phone, no sign-in needed.
× Task reminders from tools were never being emailed. Fixed; they're in your 9 AM email now.
+ Save reminders without signing up. Enter an email, get the reminder on that date.
+ Sunday weekly digest. Next 7 days at a glance. Skipped on quiet weeks. Off-switch in Settings.
+ Reminder boxes on syrup, pollen patty, honey yield, varroa, overwinter feed, and inspection checklist. Pick the cadence yourself.
~ Dashboard "Due this week" tile now counts saved task reminders too, not just inspection follow-ups.
~ Inventory CSV adds a "Part of" column so kits and their parts round-trip cleanly.
+ Save reminder on the walk-away split, post-swarm, queen cell, and grafting timelines. Drops into your tasks; you get the morning email.
~ Scheduled Reminders page now shows tasks too, not just inspection follow-ups. Sorted by date.
+ Inventory sub-items. Make a kit the parent, group the deeps and mediums under it. Sub-items can carry their own cost or roll up to the kit.
× Inventory form was crashing when you typed in the unit cost field. Fixed.
~ Syrup Calculator: Gallons is now a selectable volume unit, handy for custom container sizes.
+ Inventory. Track boxes, frames, suits, syrup, treatments, tools, queens on order. Anything you've bought or are about to. Vendor, cost, purchase date, status (in use / stored / loaned / disposed / lost / sold), optional apiary. Made for insurance after a loss and the year-end handoff to your accountant.
+ Bulk CSV import. Drop a spreadsheet at /app/import: apiaries, hives, inspections, or inventory, auto-detected from the header row. Dry-run preview flags duplicates and errors before anything is written. Round-trips cleanly with the CSVs you exported earlier.
+ Pollen Patty Calculator. Scales Kamon Reynolds's Ultra Bee recipe to any batch ("I want 40 lb of patty" or "I have 11 lb of Ultra Bee"). Sugar + water + oil base or the Pro Sweet variant.
~ "Data" dropdown on the All Hives and Apiaries pages: one-click CSV export and a jump to Import, right where you actually look at the data.
~ Avatar menu loses Export and gains Inventory. Settings lists Import alongside Export.
~ Dashboard shows an Inventory snapshot once you've logged your first item.
~ Export Data page covers the whole account now, not just inspections. "Download everything" button bundles every record into one JSON archive; per-entity CSVs for apiaries, hives, tasks, swarm logs, and the journal join the existing inspections CSV. Counts shown up front so you know what you're backing up.
+ Summarize with AI on the inspect form. Type your notes, tap the button, get a short summary plus Brood / Stores / Pests / Actions bullets, plus checkbox suggestions for any fields you left blank. The AI never overwrites anything you already set.
+ First-use disclosure modal explains where your notes go (Google's paid Gemini API, never used for training) before anything is sent. Daily per-user cap keeps costs predictable.
+ Click to edit a hive name. Tap, type, save. No more bouncing into the Edit screen for a typo.
× Bee logo was rendering oversized in some feedback emails (Outlook especially). Locked to 64 px so it looks right across every client.
+ New /hive-tracker landing page: a proper public overview of the hive tracker so visitors can see what it does before signing up. The "My Hives" link in the top nav points there; if you're already logged in you still go straight to your dashboard.
+ Archive a hive. Dead-outs, sold colonies, combined hives, and queenless ones drop out of your active lists, but the inspections, photos, and notes stay. Toggle "N archived" to peek back; Unarchive brings one back to life.
+ Quick action buttons on every hive page: New inspection, Add task, and Add note. Add task and Add note both open small inline forms so you can jot something down without scrolling.
+ Drawing comb syrup preset: Bob Binnie's 1 : 1¼ ratio for encouraging bees to draw new comb during a flow.
+ The syrup calculator's custom ratio fields now accept "1 1/4" or "5/4", not just decimals.
+ Mixing syrup by weight? Water amount shows in lb or kg now, with mL as a secondary readout. No more converting in your head.
~ Hive page reordered. Pending tasks above the inspection timeline (where you actually use them), requeening tracker right under the header, photo gallery to the bottom.
~ Secondary hive actions (QR code, Sharing, Split, Edit, Archive) now tuck behind a "More actions" toggle. Labels got shorter too. You're on a hive page, you don't need "Edit hive."
~ Hive metadata row cleaned up on mobile. Queen reference photo is smaller and lives next to the queen info instead of orphaning beside the source.
~ Mobile bottom nav rebalanced. Tools is back in the tab bar where it was, Swarms moved into the hamburger menu, and the icons line up on the same baseline again.
~ Apiaries page is now list-row style on mobile, matching the All Hives page.
× Hive action buttons no longer wrap to two lines on narrow phones.
× Archive popover was opening off-screen on mobile when the button sat in the left column.
× Magnifying glass was kissing the placeholder text in the Hives search bar.
× Add Hive button stopped stretching edge-to-edge on mobile.
+ Swarm logs. Capture date, weather, location, method (shake / lure box / cutout / call-out / trap-out), size, source, queen spotted. Add follow-ups as comb gets drawn, link to the apiary you put it in and the hive it eventually becomes.
+ Swarms tab in the main nav. New-entry form prefills weather and your last-used apiary.
+ Linked swarm logs on the hive page. If a swarm became a hive, the hive's page shows where the colony came from.
+ Public profiles. Claim a handle, write a bio, set location, region, year started, website. Lives at /u/[handle]. Visibility is Private, Unlisted, or Public. Public pages show aggregate counts only. No individual hive names, locations, or contents are ever exposed.
+ Avatar uploads. Square photo plus optional 3:1 cover. EXIF (including GPS) stripped before anything hits the server. HEIC from iPhones converts automatically.
+ Quick visibility and share menu in the avatar dropdown. Flip Private / Unlisted / Public or copy your public link without leaving the page.
+ Hive journal. Dated notes between inspections. Contributors add their own; co-owners can edit anyone's.
+ Info badge on the hive actions row that explains what the QR code, Split, Edit, and Sharing buttons do.
+ Tools dropdown in the desktop nav: every calculator and timeline, one click from anywhere.
+ Add Hive button on the All Hives page. Single-apiary users jump straight to the form; multi-apiary users get a small picker.
~ Dashboard rebuilt. New hero strip, stat tiles that link through to apiaries / all hives / reminders / hives needing attention, member-since count, and a Recent Activity card for shared-hive collaborator updates.
~ Nav slimmed to four tabs (Hives, Apiaries, Swarms, Tasks) plus the Tools dropdown and avatar menu. Custom icons replaced the generic ones.
~ Settings split into General (timezone, notifications, password, login history, emails, deletion) and Public Profile (handle, bio, avatar, cover, visibility). Old /app/profile bookmarks redirect.
~ Password change, login history, and email preferences are proper first-class options in General now (used to be buried).
~ "People with Access" panel is collapsible, with a summary row when closed.
~ Your Google photo or uploaded avatar shows up in the nav top bar and dropdown.
~ Tools list is one source of truth. Public /tools page and in-app dropdown can't drift out of sync anymore.
× Dashboard activity feed only shows activity on hives you actually have access to.
× Cover photo uploads. Storage was silently rejecting cover.jpg behind the scenes.
+ Queen reference photos. Snap or pick a photo, crop to a square, keep it on the hive page. Paint fades, actual color doesn't.
+ Pick queen photos from your camera roll, not just the camera.
~ All Hives: crown / stores / pest icons turn green, amber, or red based on the latest inspection instead of always looking alarming.
~ Hive detail: queen-year crown matches the latest queen inspection status (green when all is well).
~ Dashboard "Need attention" count: only hives whose latest inspection flagged an issue, not historical ones. Label corrected to "hives".
× Mobile queen-photo cropper: Save button is reachable on Android Chrome (was hidden behind the URL bar). Bigger drag handles.
× Occasional horizontal scroll on hive / apiary detail pages with long names or locations.
+ Requeening tracker: start from an inspection or hive, pick method and stage, see a projected timeline, mark succeeded or failed
+ Queen cell stage on inspections: log developmental stage; optional prompt to start the requeening tracker
+ Split a hive: create multiple child hives (and related records) from one parent in a single flow
+ Hive lineage: parent hive, splits from this hive, and ancestry context on hive detail
+ Parent hive picker when adding a hive whose source is a split
+ All hives page (/app/hives) with filters for needs attention and active requeening
~ Dashboard stat cards link through to apiaries, all hives, reminders, and hives needing attention
